Tripoli, November 10, 2025 (LANA) – Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Taher Al-Baour, met today with the European Union Ambassador to the United Nations Office at Geneva, Dick Potzel, to discuss cooperation between Libya and the EU in the field of human rights.
The meeting, held on the sidelines of the Universal Periodic Review session of the Human Rights Council, which took place from November 10-12, 2025, in Geneva, Switzerland, reviewed ways to enhance joint coordination within the Human Rights Council, contributing to Libyan national efforts aimed at promoting and protecting human rights.
The meeting also addressed the progress made in the partnership between Libya and the European Union, particularly in the areas of migration, development, and capacity building. Both sides emphasized the importance of continuing dialogue and constructive cooperation to serve common interests and strengthen bilateral relations.
For her part, Ambassador Potzel expressed the European Union's appreciation for Libya's efforts in promoting human rights, affirming the EU's support for the path to stability and reform in Libya.
