Tripoli, November 9, 2025 (LANA) – The committees on sovereign positions of the High Council of State and the House of Representatives met today, Sunday, with the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations for Political Affairs, Stephanie Khoury, to discuss efforts to advance the political process towards elections.
During the meeting, held at the High Council of State headquarters in Tripoli, the two committees reviewed the latest developments regarding the nomination of candidates for sovereign positions in the state, particularly the restructuring of the board of directors of the High National Elections Commission, and the efforts of the UN mission to advance the political process towards elections.
