Riyadh hosts the UN Tourism Organization General Assembly meeting.

Riyadh, November 9, 2025 (LANA) – The Saudi capital, Riyadh, will host the 26th session of the UN Tourism Organization (UN Tourism) General Assembly from November 7 to 11. The session, held under the theme "Tourism Powered by Artificial Intelligence: Redefining the Future," will be attended by the Minister of Tourism and Traditional Industries in the Government of National Unity, Nasr-Deen al-Fazani, as well as ministers and officials from several member states.
The session, which will include leaders from various sectors and international organizations, will focus on discussing the role of innovation and modern technologies in promoting sustainable and inclusive development in the global tourism sector.
In his opening remarks, Saudi Tourism Minister Ahmed bin Aqeel Al-Khatib stated that the commencement of this session represents a new phase of international cooperation under the auspices of the organization. He noted that this week marks a pivotal moment in the history of the global tourism sector and an opportunity to chart its growth course for the coming decades.
For his part, UNWTO Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili affirmed that the General Assembly meeting brings together leaders of the global tourism sector to develop a joint action plan aimed at building more sustainable and inclusive tourism. He emphasized the importance of leveraging technology and innovation to promote economic transformation, unlock new avenues for growth, and create job opportunities.
