Members of the HoR participate in the parliamentary dialogue between Africa and Europe.

Benghazi, 9 November 2025 (Lana) Members of the House of Representatives (HoR), Youssef Al-Fakhri, Saleh Qalma, and Asma Al-Khouja, participated in the joint dialogue session between the Pan-African Parliament and the European Parliament held in Midrand, South Africa.

The spokesperson of the HoR, Abdullah Blihaq, stated that the session was held in cooperation with civil society organizations and a number of European think tanks and human rights centers as part of a parliamentary review of relations between the African Union and the European Union over the past twenty-five years.

These discussions aim to strengthen the role of stakeholders and ensure that parliamentary involvement in the partnership between the African Union and the European Union serves as an effective channel of communication between the peoples of the two continents.

The session focused on the progress made in implementing previous commitments, as well as the ongoing challenges.

Strategic preparations for the upcoming summit were also discussed, including issues of peace and security, the green transition, and migration, with an emphasis on strengthening the parliamentary role, ensuring accountability, expanding inclusive dialogue, and translating high-level commitments into tangible results for the benefit of both continents.
