Tripoli, November 3, 2025 (LANA) – The High Council of State called on the House of Representatives to finalize its position within two weeks regarding the nomination of candidates for sovereign positions, particularly concerning the agreement reached on the High National Elections Commission.
This came during the Council's plenary session held this morning, Monday, at its headquarters in the capital, Tripoli, chaired by Council President Mohammed Takala, according to a statement published by the Council's media office on its official page.
The Council stressed the necessity for all sovereign and executive bodies and institutions to disregard the rulings issued by the newly established Constitutional Court, which lacks legal basis, and to refrain from assigning any legal or practical consequences to its outcomes, considering it an entity devoid of legitimacy.
The session reviewed the agenda items, which included discussing the results of the work of the Committee on Sovereign Positions, following up on the implementation of the Committee's agreement regarding the High National Elections Commission, examining the repercussions of establishing the Constitutional Court without legal basis, and the implications of its rulings, in addition to other emerging matters.
