Al-Dbaiba meets with Tetteh.

Tripoli, 3 November 2025 (Lana): Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul-Hamid Al-Dbaiba, reiterated his commitment to holding the elections and ending transitional stages, stressing that this path represents the best way to restore legitimacy and renew institutions through the popular will.

This came during a meeting Al-Dbaiba held yesterday with the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General to Libya, Hanna Tetteh, where they discussed developments of the political situation in the country and ways to strengthen international and local efforts aimed at creating the suitable conditions for holding general elections, contributing to stability, and ending the institutional division.

A-Dbaiba emphasized the government's support for the UN-led process and its full readiness to cooperate with the UN mission in all matters that would accelerate the holding of elections and unify national efforts.

For her part, Tetteh commended the ongoing cooperation between the Libyan government and the UNSMIL, stressing the UN's commitment to supporting the Libyan political process leading to free and inclusive elections as soon as possible.
