The UN mission is organizing a workshop for journalists specializing in covering women's issues.

Tripoli, November 2, 2025 (LANA) – The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) announced today, Sunday, the opening of registration for a two-day workshop to be held in Tripoli for journalists specializing in women's issues.

The workshop, organized by the Mission's "Basira" program, which aims to develop the skills of media professionals, will be held on November 23 and 24, coinciding with the UN's annual global campaign to raise awareness about combating violence against women.

UNSMIL indicated that twenty journalists will be selected from across the country to participate in the workshop.

The Mission stipulated that applicants must demonstrate their commitment to covering women's issues professionally and in a manner that respects the privacy of Libyan society, and must submit samples of their previously published work. The deadline for applications is Tuesday at 11:59 PM local time.
