Dbaiba Stresses the Need to Intensify Efforts to Improve Human Rights in Libya.

Tripoli, November 2, 2025 (LANA) – The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity and Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdul Hamid Dbaiba, stressed the need to intensify national and international efforts to improve the human rights situation in Libya.
This came during an expanded meeting held today, Sunday, which included the Minister of Justice, Halima Ibrahim, the Minister of Social Affairs, Wafa Kilani, and the Acting Minister of the Interior, Major General Imad Trabelsi.
Dbaiba emphasized the importance of increasing coordination with international organizations to develop mechanisms for working in this field, noting that Libya still needs more support and assistance from international partners to overcome existing challenges, foremost among them the conditions in some prisons and detention centers, and to improve their conditions in accordance with humanitarian standards.
He indicated that the Government of National Unity is working to implement reforms aimed at protecting public rights and preserving the dignity of citizens.
The Prime Minister called for continued cooperation with international bodies to highlight achievements, and to continue working to address existing shortcomings and strengthen the rule of law in various state institutions.
