Cairo, 2 November 2025 (Lana): Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Ati met in Cairo yesterday with Maltese Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Tourism Ian Borg to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations and coordinate positions on a number of regional and international issues of common interest, including the Libyan crisis.

According to the official page of the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, the two ministers exchanged views on the latest developments in Libya, where Minister Abdel-Ati stressed the need to continue efforts to advance the political process, leading to simultaneous presidential and parliamentary elections as soon as possible, and the withdrawal of all foreign forces and mercenaries from Libyan territory, in support of Libya's stability and unity.
