Dabaiba discusses expanding Chevron's investments in Libya's oil and renewable energy sectors

Tripoli, October 28, 2025 (LANA) – Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, discussed on Tuesday with a high-level delegation from the American company Chevron, in the presence of the Minister of Oil and Gas, Khalifa Abdul Sadiq, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation, Masoud Suleiman. The meeting discussed the company's plans to expand its activities in Libya, ranging from oil exploration to renewable energy and the transfer of technical expertise.
The Prime Minister's media office stated on its official page that the meeting included the company's delegation, consisting of Vice President of Business Development, Frank Mount; General Manager of Operations, Joel Koch; Director of Operations in High-Risk Environments, Daniel Heap; and Senior Engineering and Operations Manager, Kenneth Davis.
During the meeting, Dabaiba affirmed the Government of National Unity's commitment to creating a stable and secure investment environment that enables major international companies to return to Libya and resume their activities. He praised the pivotal role of the National Oil Corporation in attracting investment and developing the sector's infrastructure.
Chevron representatives expressed their desire to strengthen cooperation with Libya and expand their investments in the oil and gas sector, stressing that the current operating conditions represent an important opportunity for the company to contribute to the development of Libyan fields and support the country's efforts to increase production and promote economic development.
It is worth noting that Chevron is one of the largest energy companies in the world, with a market capitalization exceeding $260 billion, employing more than 45,000 people in more than 50 countries, and ranking among the top five global oil companies in terms of production and annual revenues exceeding $200 billion.
