Tripoli, October 19, 2025 (LANA) - The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) welcomed the successful completion of the voting process in 16 municipalities located in eastern, central, and southern Libya, expressing its great appreciation for voters' commitment to the democratic process.

The mission praised the initial turnout, which reached 68%, as announced by the High National Elections Commission (HNEC), expressing its satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of Election Day without any security incidents.

The mission called on all concerned parties to respect the integrity of the electoral process and allow the HNEC to complete the vote count and publish the preliminary results with full transparency.
