New York, October 19, 2025 (LANA) - The Permanent Mission of Libya to the United Nations affirmed that the crimes committed by the Israeli occupation forces in the Gaza Strip constitute a flagrant violation of international law and a stain on humanity.

This came in a statement delivered by Ambassador Essam Omran Bin Zeitoun, a member of the Permanent Mission of Libya to the United Nations, before the First Committee of the United Nations General Assembly, concerned with disarmament and international security, during the 80th session held in New York.

The statement called for an end to all Israeli violations against the Palestinian people, enabling the entry of humanitarian aid, the reconstruction of Gaza, and holding those responsible for war crimes accountable, according to what was published by the Permanent Mission of Libya to the United Nations on its website.

The statement concluded by affirming that the State of Libya will remain a sincere Arab voice within the United Nations, defending human values ​​and the rights of peoples to freedom and dignity, foremost among them the Palestinian Arab people, reaffirming its commitment to working with all parties to achieve a just and lasting peace in the world.
