Libya and Morocco discuss enhancing economic cooperation.

Istanbul, October 17, 2025 (LANA) – On Friday, the Minister of Economy and Trade of the Government of National Unity, Mohammed Al-Huwaij, discussed with the Minister of Foreign Trade of the Kingdom of Morocco, Omar Hejira, ways to enhance economic, trade, and investment cooperation between Libya and Morocco on the sidelines of the Turkey-Africa Forum held in Istanbul.
The ministry stated on its official page that Al-Huwaij stressed the importance of developing the economic partnership between the two brotherly countries, pointing to the need to resume direct flights between Libya and Morocco and reopen the Moroccan embassy in the capital, Tripoli, which would contribute to facilitating the movement of businessmen and simplifying visa procedures.
The Minister of Economy called for organizing a forum for Libyan and Moroccan businessmen in the Kingdom of Morocco to discuss available investment opportunities and increase the volume of trade exchange, in coordination with the Federation of Chambers of Commerce of the two countries, to enhance economic integration and serve common interests.
The ministry explained that this meeting comes within the framework of the Ministry of Economy and Trade's efforts to enhance regional cooperation and openness to Maghreb and African markets, in support of diversifying the national economy and developing partnerships with friendly countries.
