Tripoli, October 9, 2025 (LANA) – Chairman of the High National Elections Commission (HNEC), Imad Al-Sayeh, discussed on Thursday with the Swiss Ambassador to Libya, Joseph Ringli, the Commission's preparations for the launch of the municipal council elections (Group III - 2025) and the ongoing efforts to ensure the smooth running of the electoral process.
The Commission stated on its official page that the meeting discussed aspects of cooperation and technical support provided by international partners to enhance the Commission's capacity to manage and implement electoral events in accordance with the highest international standards.
During the meeting, Al-Sayeh expressed Switzerland's positive role in supporting the democratic process in Libya, stressing the Commission's keenness to strengthen cooperation with its international partners to serve the success of the upcoming electoral process.
For his part, Ringli expressed his appreciation for the Commission's efforts in preparing for the municipal elections, praising the professionalism and transparency it adopts in carrying out its duties. He affirmed his country's readiness to continue supporting the Commission in its efforts to consolidate the democratic process in Libya.
