The Central Bank of Libya distributes 2 billion dinars to support liquidity in commercial banks.

Tripoli, October 9, 2025 (LANA) – The Central Bank of Libya (CBL) announced that it has distributed cash liquidity to commercial banks worth 2 billion Libyan dinars so far, as part of its preparations to supply bank branches and ATMs with the necessary liquidity.
The CBL explained in a statement issued on Thursday that the distribution included 600 million dinars, disbursed through the Issuance Department in Benghazi to cover the needs of commercial bank branches in the eastern region, while 1.4 billion dinars were distributed to commercial bank branches in the rest of the country.
The CBL also announced that an additional 300 million dinars will be provided to commercial bank branches in the eastern region, in addition to 700 million dinars that will be distributed to commercial bank branches in the western and southern regions.
The CBL confirmed that the cash distributions are part of the first phase of a comprehensive plan aimed at ensuring the availability of cash in commercial banks. Additional cash shipments will continue in the coming period to meet the needs of bank branch vaults across the country.
In this context, the bank emphasized the importance of using available electronic payment tools, given the efficiency, security, and speed they offer in completing daily transactions.
