Minister of Finance meets with the Canadian company (Free Balance) and its local partner.

Tripoli, 8 October 2025 (Lana)— GNU- Minister of Finance Khaled Al-Mabrouk met with the Canadian company Free Balance and its local partner, Digital Guide for Information Technology, as part of the digital transformation and public finance reform.
During the meeting, the company gave an inclusive presentation on the Government Financial Management Information System (GFMIS) and the Treasury Single Account (TSA), reviewing its experience in implementing these digital solutions in more than 28 countries around the world.
The presentation was followed by an extensive discussion on the system's benefits in reforming public finances in Libya and improving procedures related to expenditures, procurement, tenders, revenue collection, budget classification, chart of accounts, liquidity management, and more.
During the meeting, which was attended by undersecretaries and directors of departments and offices, it was agreed to continue discussions and conduct the necessary assessments regarding the system's implementation.
The Minister expressed his full support for strengthening public finance management and adopting international best practices, which contribute to improving the management of state funds, disclosure, and transparency.
