Dabaiba and Indonesian Deputy Foreign Minister discuss ways to develop political and economic cooperation between the two countries.

Tripoli, October 5, 2025 (LANA) - Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, met on Sunday with Indonesian Deputy Foreign Minister Muhammad Anis and his accompanying delegation, as part of strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, held at the Prime Minister's Office in Tripoli, the two sides discussed ways to develop political and economic cooperation between the two countries, including establishing a regular consultation mechanism through a joint committee, and signing memoranda of understanding in the fields of investment, energy, education, and culture. They also discussed promising opportunities in the infrastructure, trade, and services sectors.
An agreement was reached to form a joint technical committee to address outstanding economic issues between the two countries and resolve previous commitments, thus enhancing trust and establishing sustainable economic cooperation in the next phase.
The two sides affirmed the convergence of their positions on the Palestinian issue and their rejection of any infringement on the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. They also called for a peaceful settlement of the Sudanese crisis and supported efforts aimed at consolidating the ceasefire and achieving stability.
The two sides also expressed interest in enhancing cooperation in the fields of health, transportation, ports, and airports, and in benefiting from Indonesian expertise in managing vital facilities and developing technical capabilities.
Dabaiba affirmed Libya's keenness to expand its partnerships with major Asian and Islamic countries, welcoming continued consultations to hold a joint economic forum in Tripoli or Jakarta in the coming period to activate practical cooperation between the two countries.
