Takala discusses developments in Gaza and the situation of the Palestinian community in Libya with the Palestinian ambassador.

Tripoli, October 5, 2025 (LANA) - The President of the High Council of State, Mohammed Takala, met today, Sunday, with the Palestinian Ambassador to Libya, Mohammed Rahal, to discuss developments in the Palestinian territories, particularly in the Gaza Strip, in light of the war of extermination being waged against the Palestinian people.

During the meeting, the latest humanitarian developments in Gaza were reviewed, amid the ongoing aggression and stifling blockade. The Palestinian Ambassador emphasized the depth of the crisis facing the people there, calling for intensified Arab and international efforts to end the suffering of the Palestinian people.

The meeting also addressed the situation of the Palestinian community residing in Libya and ways to enhance its communication with Libyan state institutions, ensuring their safety and rights. The participation of a number of Libyan volunteers in the "Sumood Flotilla," which aims to break the blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip, was also discussed. This was welcomed and appreciated by the Palestinian side.

For his part, the President of the High Council of State reiterated Libya's unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and return to their homeland. He emphasized that Palestine will remain the Arabs' foremost cause, and that Libya will spare no effort in supporting the steadfastness of the Palestinian people until they achieve their freedom and independence.
