The Foreign Ministry of the Unity Government holds the Israeli occupation responsible for detaining citizens on board an aid ship bound for Gaza.

Tripoli, October 2, 2025 (LANA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity confirmed on Thursday that it is closely monitoring the detention of Libyan citizens who were on board the Omar Al-Mukhtar ship, which was heading to the Gaza Strip to deliver urgent humanitarian aid to our besieged people in the Strip.
The ministry stated, in a statement on its official page, that it holds the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the safety of the detained citizens.
In the statement, it called on the international community to take urgent action to provide them with the necessary protection, work to release them immediately, and ensure their safe return to the country.
