Gaza, October 2, 2025 (LANA) - The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation announced on Thursday that the Israeli army seized more than 40 ships from the Global Sumood Flotilla heading to the Gaza Strip and arrested hundreds of participants, following a night of attacks on the ships participating in the flotilla.

The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation reported that hundreds of participants were being transported to the port of Ashdod for "voluntary deportation" or for legal proceedings for forced deportation.

It revealed that Israeli army and naval forces are conducting a maritime survey to ensure that no ship has succeeded in approaching the Gaza Strip.

This came after the Israeli Foreign Ministry confirmed that it would deport all activists aboard the Global Sumood Flotilla ships to Europe.

Since Thursday morning, international condemnation of the Israeli attack on the Sumood Flotilla ships has continued. Several countries, including Turkey, Kuwait, Colombia, Spain, and others, have announced that they are working to release their citizens detained by Israeli forces.

However, the Sumood Flotilla announced that some ships are continuing their journey toward the Gaza Strip to carry out their mission of breaking the blockade imposed by the occupation.

The Sumood Flotilla, which set sail from Spain at the end of last August, comprises 44 ships carrying hundreds of pro-Palestinian activists from more than 40 countries.

For its part, the Maghreb Sumood Flotilla to Break the Siege on Gaza announced that it had entered the territorial waters of the Gaza Strip, approaching its goal of breaking the blockade imposed on the Strip, despite Israeli objections and attempts to stop it at sea.

The flotilla organizers condemned the unlawful attack on defenseless aid workers and called on governments, world leaders, and international institutions to demand the safety of all those on board and their release.
