US Embassy in Libya: Temporary suspension of updates due to interruption in funding

Tripoli, October 1, 2025 (LANA) – The US Embassy in Libya announced on Wednesday a temporary suspension of updates to its official account due to a disruption in funding.

The embassy explained, in a post on its Facebook page, that the account will not be updated regularly until full operations are resumed, noting that the only exception will be for urgent information related to safety and security.

The embassy confirmed that scheduled passport and visa services will continue in the United States and at US embassies and consulates abroad during the disruption, as the situation allows.

The embassy invited citizens seeking more information about the services provided and the status of operations to visit the official website of the US Department of State at the following link:
