US Chargé d'Affaires: Technology is a gateway to strengthening the partnership between Libya and the United States

Benghazi, October 1, 2025 (LANA) – The Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy to Libya, Jeremy Berndt, expressed his happiness at visiting the BYTE non-governmental organization in Benghazi and meeting with a number of young Libyans interested in technology and entrepreneurship.
In a tweet posted on his X platform page, Berndt said, "I was pleased to visit BYTE and meet inspiring and creative Libyan youth in the technology sector. I was impressed by their entrepreneurial ideas and projects, which reflect a real ambition to build an advanced digital future in Libya."
The US Chargé d'Affaires emphasized that the technology sector is one of the most promising sectors capable of supporting economic development in Libya, noting that the United States represents an appropriate partner in the country's efforts to build a comprehensive and sustainable digital economy.
It's worth noting that BYTE - Benghazi Youth for Technology and Entrepreneurship - based in Benghazi, is a Libyan organization founded with a vision to engage Libyan youth in the social and economic development of local communities by enhancing the role of technology and fostering entrepreneurship and innovation.
The organization focuses on building the capacity of Libyan youth and empowering them to become leaders in the fields of technology and entrepreneurship by providing the resources, expertise, technical knowledge, and skills necessary to respond to the community's digital needs and aspirations.
BYTE also seeks to play a pivotal role in developing the local technology ecosystem by supporting youth in launching their projects and innovations within a stimulating environment, contributing to transforming individual ideas into tangible initiatives.
