Tripoli, September 30, 2025 (LANA) - President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Menfi, reiterated the basic principles of his political initiative, which he presented to the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, and which is based on four main pillars.

This came during his reception today, Tuesday, at the Council's headquarters, of the German Envoy to Libya, Christian Bock, and the German Ambassador, Ralph Tarraf. The meeting is part of ongoing consultations between the two sides to enhance political settlement efforts in the country.

The meeting discussed the latest developments in Libya—politically, economically, and security-wise—and addressed the current challenges facing the political process. Both emphasized the need for comprehensive national consensus as a basis for holding the upcoming elections, ensuring the inclusiveness of the political process and enhancing its legitimacy.

For his part, the German Envoy praised the Council President's efforts to push for a comprehensive and sustainable settlement, expressing his country's full support for the political solution process and its commitment to the success of the outcomes of the Berlin Dialogue. He emphasized the importance of creating the appropriate conditions for holding transparent and fair elections, leading to the building of a stable, democratic state in which all Libyans participate without exclusion.

The President of the Presidential Council's initiative includes four main pillars: restoring national sovereign decision-making, engaging in an inclusive national dialogue, unifying state institutions, and concluding the transitional phase through a constitutional framework. A consensus that leads to free elections that reflect the will of the people, stressing that any path must place the Libyan people at the heart of the political process, achieve national ownership, and ensure that the negatives of previous experiences are not repeated.
