Hanna Tetteh: senior officials from the United States, Egypt, France, Germany, Italy, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom affirmed their support for the political roadmap and its mediation efforts.

New York, September 24, 2025 (LANA) – The Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Libya, Hanna Tetteh, revealed that senior officials from the United States, Egypt, France, Germany, Italy, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom affirmed their support for the political roadmap and its mediation efforts.

The mission reported on its website that Hanna Tetteh briefed senior officials from these countries on the latest political and security developments in Libya on the sidelines of the high-level week of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly yesterday, Tuesday.

The mission explained that Tetteh reviewed with the group the efforts being made to advance the political roadmap and facilitate a serious dialogue between the Libyan parties with the aim of leading the country to elections and unifying institutions.

According to the mission, these officials affirmed their support for the political roadmap and the mediation efforts of the Special Representative, as well as the urgent need to strengthen institutional unity and enhance security and prosperity. They also highlighted the importance of strengthening key economic institutions and the need for greater security integration between eastern and western Libya.
