Tripoli, September 22, 2025 (LANA) – The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Naji Issa, met today, Monday, with a number of general managers of commercial banks, in the presence of the Muamalat Financial Services Company and companies providing electronic payment services.
The meeting discussed the latest developments in the expansion of electronic payment services, monitored the development of their performance indicators, and reviewed the banking sector's readiness for the next phase, in line with the Central Bank of Libya's plan to enhance financial inclusion.
The meeting also addressed the technical and technological challenges and obstacles facing the expansion of electronic payment services, and worked to address them within systematic mechanisms that ensure business continuity.
The Governor of the Central Bank stressed the need to provide a safe environment that enhances user confidence and keeps pace with the latest international standards.
