Al-Juwaifi meets with mayors and members of 15 municipalities

Tripoli, September 22, 2025 (LANA) – Acting Minister of Local Government, Abdul Shafi' Al-Juwaifi, met today, Monday, with the mayors and members of 15 municipalities: Al-Asabaa, Kikla, Al-Qalaa, Yafran, Zliten, Al-Shuqayqa, Ras Al-Tabbal, Zliten, Sorman, Nalut, Mizda, Al-Khums, Tajoura, and Ain Zara. The meeting discussed the conditions of the municipalities and monitored the progress of ongoing projects.

The ministry explained that the meeting also included an apology for the previous statement issued by some municipalities, stressing that those who made the statement only represented themselves. The attendees were keen to offer their apologies to the minister, a move seen as a gesture of respect and a desire to strengthen reconciliation and cooperation between the ministry and the municipalities.

The meeting reviewed existing projects and the challenges facing the municipalities, focusing on providing the necessary support and coordinating efforts between local administrations to enhance efficiency and achieve the desired results. Future plans for the next phase were also discussed, as well as ways to enhance cooperation to ensure business continuity and better meet citizens' needs.

Al-Juwaifi stressed the importance of adhering to the specified timelines to ensure improved service delivery to citizens.
