The Electoral Commission is discussing arrangements for the municipal council elections (third group)

Tripoli, September 22, 2025 (LANA) – The High National Elections Commission (HNEC) held an expanded meeting today, Monday, to discuss the technical and logistical arrangements related to the launch of the third group of municipal council elections for 2025.

The meeting, which was attended by representatives of the Elections Support Project in Libya, reviewed the stages of preparation for the upcoming electoral process and discussed ways to overcome challenges to ensure the elections are held according to the highest standards of transparency and professionalism.

The meeting was attended by Imad Al-Sayeh, Chairman of the HNEC Board, and Council Member Abdulhakim Al-Shaab, along with the directors of the commission's technical departments. The meeting addressed the mechanisms for technical coordination and technical support necessary for the success of the municipal elections.

This meeting comes within the framework of the HNEC's efforts to follow up on work plans and raise the level of organizational readiness, ensuring that the elections within the third group are held on their scheduled dates.
