Conclusion of a workshop in Tripoli on victims of human trafficking.

Tripoli, 21 September 2025 (Lana) A training workshop organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), on identifying victims of human trafficking and irregular migrants concluded in Tripoli.

The workshop, sponsored by the Netherlands and attended by representatives from the Ministries of Interior, Health, and Social Affairs, and the Emergency Medical Support Center, aimed to strengthen the capacity of national institutions in Libya to identify and support victims of human trafficking and irregular migrants, as well as to enhance coordination between governmental and international agencies.

The workshop focused on the need to develop a comprehensive map of services available to victims of trafficking, identify gaps, and develop coordination mechanisms between national institutions and international partners to ensure more effective protection for victims.

The workshop also discussed prevention and awareness-raising measures, as well as the provision of essential services such as health protection, psychosocial support, shelter, and child protection.
