Al-Baour pays an official working visit to the Republic of Greece

Athens, September 17, 2025 (LANA) - Taher Al-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, paid an official working visit to the Republic of Greece on Wednesday, heading a Libyan delegation of experts.

During the meeting, Al-Baour expressed the importance the Government of National Unity attaches to the historical relations between the State of Libya and the Republic of Greece, and its aspiration to develop them in all fields to achieve the common interests of the two friendly Libyan and Greek peoples.

The two sides exchanged views on a number of current regional and international issues of mutual interest. They also discussed joint efforts to mitigate the illegal immigration crisis. They also exchanged views on the issue of demarcating maritime borders and exclusive economic zones related to the maritime areas adjacent to each other in the Eastern Mediterranean.

The two sides emphasized the importance of continuing direct dialogue and working through positive, fruitful cooperation that achieves the common interests of the two friendly countries and serves security, stability, and peace in the region.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Greek Foreign Minister George Kyriakos Gypsieska hosted a luncheon in honor of the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Taher Al-Baour, and his accompanying delegation.
