Dabaiba forms a committee to take over the Mitiga and Ain Zara prisons and monitor the conditions of the inmates.

Tripoli, September 17, 2025 (LANA) – The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, issued Decision No. (399) of 2025, forming a specialized committee to take over the correctional and rehabilitation institutions located at the Mitiga and Ain Zara bases.

The committee was chaired by the Head of the Inspection Department for Judicial Bodies and Correctional and Rehabilitation Institutions at the Office of the Attorney General, in addition to a representative from the Ministry of Justice and another from the Judicial Police.

Pursuant to the decision, the committee is responsible for taking over the two aforementioned institutions, counting the number of inmates therein, and classifying them according to the cases against them. It is also responsible for monitoring compliance with the law, particularly with regard to those wanted by the Office of the Attorney General.
