Benghazi, September 16, 2025 (LANA) – The Ministry of Electricity of the government assigned by the House of Representatives announced today, Tuesday, the implementation of emergency maintenance of the lighting system surrounding the shrine of Sheikh Omar al-Mukhtar in Benghazi. This comes in conjunction with the anniversary of his martyrdom, which falls on September 16 of each year.
The ministry explained, in a post on its official page, that maintenance teams have begun a comprehensive inspection of the lighting system, including replacing damaged bulbs, repairing technical faults, and ensuring the operational readiness of all electrical components.
The ministry confirmed that all work was completed within a short period of time, ensuring that the shrine is presented in a manner befitting its national stature and commemorating this immortal memory in the hearts of all Libyans.
