Tripoli, 14 September 2025 (Lana) The UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General, Hanna Tetteh, discussed yesterday with Presidential Council Member Abdullah Al-Lafi the security situation across Libya, including opportunities to strengthen stability in the capital and beyond.

According to the mission on its official page, the discussions also covered UNSMIL’s efforts to advance the political roadmap through the proposed structured dialogue, which would include issues relating to reconciliation.

Al-Lafi expressed his appreciation for the mission’s contribution to stabilizing security in Tripoli and its ongoing efforts to push forward the political process, reaffirming his support for UNSMIL’s mandate in Libya.
