Milan, September 10, 2025 (LANA) – The Minister of Oil and Gas in the Government of National Unity, Khalifa Abdul-Sadig, held a meeting with a high-level delegation from the British company BP, on the sidelines of his participation in the Gas Tech 2025 conference in Milan, Italy.
The meeting addressed ways to enhance joint cooperation between the two sides, expand BP's investments in Libya, and discuss future bidding rounds that the ministry intends to launch in the oil and gas sectors.
During the meeting, Minister Abdul-Sadig stressed Libya's commitment to providing a stable and secure investment environment, paving the way for long-term strategic partnerships with major international companies. He highlighted the important role that BP can play in supporting the sustainable development of the country's energy sector.
In a related context, the Ministry of Oil said in a post on its official Facebook page on Wednesday, "Libya's participation in the Gas Tech conference reflects its commitment to working together to ensure global energy security, achieve sustainable development, and consolidate its position as a reliable partner in the energy industry."
The Ministry also stressed that the Libyan oil sector is receiving increasing media attention and international interest, given the promising investment opportunities it offers, particularly in light of the efforts being made to rehabilitate infrastructure and develop fields and production.
