Tripoli, September 9, 2025 (LANA) – The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Naji Mohammed Issa, held an expanded meeting in Tripoli yesterday, Monday, attended by the Attorney General, Al-Siddiq Al-Sour, and the Minister of Finance, Khaled Al-Mabrouk. The meeting aimed to enhance coordination between sovereign state institutions and advance financial and administrative reform efforts.
According to the official website of the Central Bank of Libya, the meeting discussed the national project to unify public spending rules and reviewed the results of implementing the first phase of the Unified Treasury Account System, which aims to improve the efficiency of public finance management and ensure transparency in spending from the public treasury.
The meeting also addressed the "Your Salary is Instant" initiative, launched by the Central Bank of Libya in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance. This initiative aims to expedite salary disbursements and transfer them directly and securely to employee accounts. Attendees praised the role of the Public Prosecution in strengthening governance and oversight of the salary disbursement system, stressing the importance of the observations revealed by investigations into previous violations.
In a related context, the attendees discussed the importance of activating the import tracking system, as a key tool for combating fraud in documentary credits, determining responsibilities in cases of smuggling prohibited substances, and reducing the health risks associated with imported goods, according to the same source.
This meeting is part of a series of consultations aimed at enhancing institutional coordination and achieving the highest levels of transparency and efficiency in the management of public funds, which will positively impact the national economy and the interests of citizens.
