Tripoli, September 8, 2025 (LANA) – The new Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Libya and Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator for Libya, Ingeborg Ulrika Olfsdotter Richardson, presented a copy of her credentials on Monday to Taher Al-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
During the meeting, held at the Ministry's headquarters in Tripoli, Al-Baour welcomed UN official Richardson, wishing her success in her new duties. He affirmed the Ministry's full readiness to cooperate and provide the necessary support to facilitate her humanitarian and development missions, within the framework of mutual respect and shared interests.
The meeting reviewed the latest developments in the country and discussed ways to strengthen the partnership between Libya and the United Nations system, particularly in the areas of humanitarian support, development coordination, and national capacity building, in line with the priorities and current needs of the Libyan state.
For her part, Richardson expressed her gratitude and appreciation for the warm welcome, affirming the United Nations' commitment to continuing close cooperation with the Libyan authorities and providing all possible support to contribute to enhancing stability and achieving sustainable development in Libya.
