Nicosia, September 5, 2025 (LANA) – Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Atti stressed the importance of respecting Libyan sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independence from foreign interference.
This came during his meeting today, Friday, in Nicosia with Cypriot Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos, during which the two ministers discussed a number of regional issues of common interest, according to Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Tammam Khilaf.
The Egyptian Foreign Minister emphasized the need for concerted efforts to ensure the withdrawal of all foreign forces, mercenaries, and foreign fighters from Libya.
Abdel-Atti called for support for the Libyan-led political process and the achievement of national consensus without any external dictates or interference, leading to the holding of presidential and parliamentary elections simultaneously.
