Tripoli, 5 September 2025 (LANA) - The co-chairs of the Security Working Group of the Berlin Process commended the efforts made to reach an agreement between the Government of National Unity and the Counter-Crime and Counter-Terrorism Force.
This statement was issued following a meeting held on Thursday by the co-chairs of the Security Working Group (the UN Support Mission in Libya, the African Union, France, Italy, Turkey, and the United Kingdom), in the presence of the Chief of Staff of the Libyan Army, the Chairman of the Ceasefire Committee, the advisor to the Chairman of the Presidential Council, and the representative of the Security and Military Arrangements Committee.
The co-chairs called for an urgent and peaceful resolution of outstanding issues, and for the prompt implementation of any agreement reached, with a clear timeframe and concrete, practical steps. They also urged all parties to maintain calm and restraint to avoid any acts of violence or harm to civilians.
