Al-Zubi discusses enhancing military and security cooperation in Rome.

Rome, September 4, 2025 (LANA) – The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Salam Al-Zubi, met today, Thursday, in the Italian capital, Rome, with the Italian Minister of Defense, Guido Crosetto, and the head of the Italian Intelligence Service.
The Government Media Office reported that the two sides discussed aspects of bilateral relations between Libya and Italy, and ways to enhance military and security cooperation, with a focus on developing the military capabilities of the Ministry of Defense, supporting security coordination efforts, and enhancing cooperation in the fields of training and improving the efficiency of military personnel.
The discussions also covered regional and Mediterranean security issues, as well as a number of issues of common interest, reflecting the two sides' keenness to expand the scope of the strategic partnership.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides emphasized the importance of continuing coordination and consultation to serve common interests, support security and stability efforts in the region, and enhance the depth of military and security cooperation between Libya and Italy.
