Tripoli, August 31, 2025 (LANA) - The Head of the European Union Delegation to Libya, Nicola Orlando, reiterated the EU's call for all parties in Libya to resolve differences peacefully through dialogue.

This came in a post on X, after his meeting today, Sunday, with the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Government of National Unity, Abdulsalam Zubi.

Orlando said, "I welcomed the in-depth exchange of views with the Deputy Minister of Defense, Abdulsalam Zubi, on current security developments."

The Head of the European Union Delegation stressed the importance of working with the Security Arrangements Committee and the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) to de-escalate tensions and prevent threats to civilians.

Orlando added, "We agreed to continue our joint efforts to uphold human rights and international standards on migration and border management."
