Tripoli, August 31, 2025 (LANA) - The Chairman of the Presidential Council and Supreme Commander of the Libyan Army, Mohamed Al-Mnifi, met today, Sunday, with members of the 5+5 Joint Military Committee for the western region to discuss the latest military and security developments in the region.

The media office of the Chairman of the Presidential Council stated that the meeting discussed the de-escalation efforts led by the Chairman of the Council, which aim to achieve security and political stability and promote comprehensive peace in the country. The meeting also emphasized the importance of implementing a ceasefire throughout Libya.

During the meeting, the committee presented a detailed briefing on the results of its recent meeting in Tunisia, which focused on the axes of unifying the military establishment.
