The US affirms its support to Libya.

Tripoli, August 28, 2025 (LANA) – The United States reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to supporting Libya's unity, security, and stability during the visit to Sirt by of the Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy to Libya, Jeremy Brent.

In a video posted by the US Embassy on its Facebook page, Brent said, "I am honored to be in Sirt today, a city located in the heart of Libya and a vital bridge connecting the east and west of the country."

He added, "Nine years ago, Sirt was under the control of ISIS, and the United States stood with the Libyan people in their fight against terrorism and supported the Libyans' efforts to liberate the city."

He continued, "The United States today aspires to once again stand with all Libyans to build a prosperous economy," emphasizing that this will be achieved by strengthening trade partnerships and supporting reconstruction and stability efforts.

Brent concluded his statement by saying, "I am pleased to be visiting Sirt for the first time today, and we look forward to further fruitful cooperation with Libyans across the region."
