The visit aimed to monitor the progress of the voting process and ensure its smooth running in the municipalities of Zawiya, Sabratha, and Surman.

Al-Sayeh was accompanied on the visit by the Director of the Security Operations Department at the Ministry of Interior, the Director of the Technical Department at the Internal Security Service, the Head of the Electoral Administration Office in Zawiya, and security coordinators from the Internal Security Service and the Ministry of Interior.

The Commission explained that the visit comes in the context of supporting the electoral process, which began today in the municipalities of Zawiya Central, Zawiya West, Zawiya North, Downtown Zawiya, Sabratha, Surman, and Bir al-Ghanam. This visit followed the postponement of voting last Saturday following an attack on the Zawiya office at dawn on Friday, August 15.

During his tour, Al-Sayeh praised the efforts of the staff of the Electoral Administration Office in Zawiya, as well as the effective contribution of notables, wise men, and educated elites in supporting the electoral process. He also commended the citizens who demonstrated their commitment to completing the national election in a respectable manner and maintaining stability in the relevant municipalities.

During the visit, Al-Sayeh emphasized the Commission's commitment to guaranteeing the rights of voters and candidates and providing an appropriate environment for expressing democratic will through the ballot box. He emphasized that the Commission will not allow any acts of violence or sabotage to harm the electoral process, noting that such acts will not deter the Commission from fulfilling its national mission.

Al-Sayeh also visited polling stations in the municipalities of Surman and Sabratha, where he monitored the progress of the electoral process with security officials in the area.
