Al-Lafi discusses with the Tunisian Prime Minister enhancing cooperation in the economic and investment fields.

Tokyo, August 22, 2025 (LANA) - Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, emphasized the depth of the distinguished relations between Libya and Tunisia, praising Tunisia's positive and supportive role in Libya's stability and its firm positions, which reflect Tunisia's commitment to standing by the Libyan people at all times.
This came during his meeting with Tunisian Prime Minister, Sarah Zaafrani, on the sidelines of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9).
The two sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation, particularly in the economic and investment fields, to create a favorable environment for increasing partnership opportunities between businessmen and companies in both countries. They also agreed to activate the work of the Libyan-Tunisian Joint High Committee to serve the interests of the two brotherly peoples.
The meeting discussed a number of bilateral and regional issues, most notably the genocide, starvation, and forced displacement of the Palestinian people. Both sides affirmed their unified positions on the Palestinian cause and their support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to achieve freedom and establish their independent state.
