Aguila Saleh discusses economic reforms with the Central Bank Governor

Benghazi, August 20, 2025 (LANA) - Speaker of the House of Representatives, Counselor Aguila Saleh, discussed economic reforms and the development of monetary policy with the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Naji Issa, and his deputy, Marai Al-Barassi, in Benghazi on Wednesday. The meeting was attended by the first and second deputy speakers of the House, Fawzi Al-Nuwairi and Misbah Douma.
During the meeting, the Governor of the Central Bank pledged to end the liquidity crisis by October 1, stressing that he is working effectively and systematically to activate and develop electronic payment operations.
During the meeting, the Central Bank of Libya presented proposals to the House of Representatives aimed at resolving some of the bottlenecks facing the Central Bank, while affirming the House's support for this approach to effectively contribute to overcoming all difficulties and obstacles.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Speaker of the House of Representatives and his two deputies emphasized the need to unify institutions across Libya and to continue unified efforts to support reconstruction and the development process throughout Libya, according to House spokesman Abdullah Blihaq.
