Libya participates in the ninth TICAD summit in Yokohama, Japan

Tripoli, August 20, 2025 (LANA) – The Libyan delegation participated in the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9), which kicked off today, Wednesday, in Yokohama, Japan, with the participation of African leaders, the Japanese Prime Minister, and international development partners.

The Libyan delegation was headed by Abdullah Al-Lafi, a member of the Presidential Council, accompanied by Al-Taher Al-Baour, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. They attended the opening session of the summit, which discussed strengthening the African-Japanese partnership and supporting efforts for stability and sustainable development on the continent.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that this participation stems from Libya's keenness to enhance its presence in international and regional forums and to actively engage in initiatives aimed at achieving joint development and strengthening cooperation with its partners in Africa and Japan.
