Al-Menfi meets with the French President's special envoy and discusses developments in the Libyan political scene.

Tripoli, August 17, 2025 (LANA) – President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Menfi, met today, Sunday, at the Council's headquarters in the capital, Tripoli, with the Special Envoy of the French President, Paul Soler.
The Presidential Council's media office reported that the French envoy conveyed to Menfi the greetings of President Emmanuel Macron, praising President Menfi's role in managing the transitional phase and maintaining political and security balances in the country.
The meeting discussed current political developments and the plan of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) to support the political transition in Libya (UNSMIL), and ways to ensure its success through close coordination with national institutions and advancing a comprehensive national consensus.
The meeting also addressed the President of the Presidential Council's initiative for a comprehensive financial audit, which received praise from France for representing a fundamental step towards transparency and establishing the foundations of good governance.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides stressed the importance of strengthening Libyan-French bilateral relations and joint coordination on issues of mutual interest.
