Tripoli, August 16, 2025 (LANA) - The Tripoli Security Directorate and supporting security agencies have tightened their security measures to secure the national election and the smooth running of the municipal council elections, which began this morning, Saturday, at several polling stations in the capital.

The Security Media Department of the Directorate's Public Relations Office monitored the influx of voters to polling stations from the opening, amid an organized and comprehensive security presence from all security components affiliated with the Directorate, including police stations and relevant security agencies.

The Directorate confirmed that its plan to secure the electoral process was developed in coordination with the Central Elections Commission. It includes covering all polling stations and ensuring a rapid response to any emergency, enhancing citizens' confidence in the safe environment in which to exercise their electoral rights.

The Tripoli Security Directorate renewed its call to all citizens to demonstrate awareness and national responsibility, and to contribute positively to the success of this election, reflecting a civilized image of the capital and its residents.
