HoR speaker meets with head of UNSMIL.

Al-Qubbah, August 14, 2025 (LANA) – The Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Hannah Tetteh, briefed the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aguila Saleh, on the mission's efforts to develop a consensual roadmap aimed at reaching elections. The roadmap, which she intends to present during her upcoming briefing to the UN Security Council on August 21, was discussed.
This came during a meeting held by Tetteh, accompanied by her Deputy for Political Affairs, Stephanie Khoury, with Aguila Saleh in the city of Al-Qubbah, according to a post published by the UN Mission on its official account on the "X" platform, today, Thursday.
During the meeting, which addressed the latest developments in the country's political and security situation, Tetteh stressed the need for all Libyan parties to shoulder their national responsibilities and engage seriously in the political process in a spirit of consensus and compromise, thus achieving the Libyan people's aspirations for peace, stability, and prosperity through the holding of comprehensive presidential and parliamentary elections.
