Tripoli, August 11, 2025 (LANA) - Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity and Minister of Defense, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, today attended the graduation ceremony of the (55) batch from the Military College, the (40) batch from the Air Defense College, the (39) batch from the Air College, the (33) batch from the Naval Studies Academy, and the (36) batch from the Military Technical Institute. The ceremony was held at the Military College headquarters in Tripoli.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Member of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Mohammed Al-Haddad, Director of Military Intelligence, Major General Mahmoud Hamza, Chiefs of Staff, and a number of military and security leaders.
In a speech during the ceremony, Dabaiba congratulated the graduates and their families, expressing his pride in their joining the ranks of the Libyan Army. He emphasized that the stability of the state can only be achieved through a unified national army operating under the banner of the law and embracing the belief of protecting the homeland and its citizens.
He pointed out that the government is continuing to support the professional regular army, end the use of weapons outside state authority, and maintain the security stability achieved, stressing that these three paths are proceeding in parallel and at a steady pace.
Dabaiba added that the time of describing Libya as a "country of militias" is over, and that the state will extend its authority over all sovereign facilities, including ports, airports, and military bases, without exception.
The Prime Minister addressed the graduates, saying, "Today, you are beginning a new phase of work and giving, and you will be on the front lines defending Libya. Adhere to the honor of military service, discipline, and loyalty to the homeland alone, for you are Libya's shield and its impregnable fortress."
