Tripoli, August 11, 2025 (LANA) - Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity and Minister of Defense Abdul Hamid Dabaiba stressed that the stability of countries can only be established through a single, unified army operating under the rule of law and embracing the doctrine of protecting the homeland and its citizens.

This came in a speech he delivered during the graduation ceremony of students from military colleges, academies, and the Military Technical Institute, during the celebration of the 85th anniversary of the founding of the Libyan Army at the Military College in Tripoli.

Dabaiba said, "We are pursuing three paths: supporting our professional, regular army, ending the rule of outlawed armed gangs, and maintaining stability."

The Prime Minister continued, "Our battle to end weapons outside state authority is ongoing, and we have overcome its most difficult stages, thanks to God and then to the will of the Libyans."

Dabaiba added that we extend our hand to anyone who wants the state and its institutions, and we will not fail to be firm in confronting those who place themselves as obstacles to the future.

The Prime Minister emphasized that there is no other way but for state authority to govern all its facilities without exception.

Dabaiba noted that the time of describing Libya or its capital as a country of militias is over, saying, "Together, we will turn this gloomy page in our nation's history toward a secure state where the rule of law prevails."
